Where are you located?

We currently utilize a licensed kitchen in Thornton, Colorado to create our cakes, cookies and confections.  We only operate by special order and we do not have cakes daily for purchase. Everything we make is custom and requires at least one week’s notice (per availability and detail required). 

Note (changes with consultations and cake tastings as of 2020):

Due to Covid changing the world of business and our joint wedding studio closing, we changed our business model in 2020 and now typically offer virtual consultations via phone, zoom and/or email and offer take away cake tastings for wedding cakes priced over $650+.

There is a $45 fee for a sampler of 6 of the most popular flavors/fillings and if you decide to move forward with us you receive a $45 credit back into the cost of your wedding cake.

We do not offer tastings for occasion cakes at this time.

What do I need to bring to our consultation?

In terms of weddings, we have found that it is helpful if you have already decided upon a venue, the number of guests and have an idea of the overall theme and color combination’s that will be used at your ceremony and reception prior to our meeting.

Please bring anything that has inspired you. Pinterest is a fabulous place to start! Examples can be the invitation, a piece of lace, scrapbook paper.  You name it..you bring it and we can most likely replicate it in sugar.

What Can I Expect To Pay For A Wedding Cake? Do you have a price list?

We do not have a general price list because each cake is a custom creation. Most wedding and tiered cakes are priced per person; 3D cakes are priced per project.  All of our sugarpaste flowers are priced separately. Pricing starts at $6 per serving for simple buttercream designs and fondant starts at $7 per serving and can increase up to $20 per person based upon design and intricate details.  

Generally, our pricing tends to average about $8 per serving. Ultimately the final price is based on the complexity of design and the number of people being served. Sheet cakes are only available to supplement larger parties and are priced at $3.00 per serving (our sheet cakes are always 2 layers instead of the typical 1 layer cake).  We only offer sheet cakes as back-up cakes for very large events where a large amount of cake is needed. 

We ask that you have a budget in mind for what you would like to spend on your cake before you come to the consultation.  This will give us a better sense of what we can design for you.

Do you ship your cakes in the mail?

Not at this time. 

What is your delivery area? What do you charge for delivery?

We deliver all over Colorado for a fee. Please inquire about the fee for delivery to your specific area.

Do I have to make a deposit to reserve my wedding date? If so, how much is it and can I get a refund, if necessary?

Yes, we charge a $100.00 deposit to reserve your wedding date on our calendar and the remainder is due 14 calendar days prior to your wedding date.  We ask that you be completely sure that you would like to work with us as ALL Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLEand Date Specific.

I am not ready to make design decisions yet but I want to reserve our date so you don’t get booked up, is there a way to do that?

Yes. You may reserve your date with a $100.00 deposit. Final arrangements just need to be made at least 4 weeks prior to your event.  Again, we ask that you be absolutely sure that you would like to work with us as ALL Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

How far in advance should I book a cake?

We are often booked up many weeks ahead of time so the sooner the better to reserve your place on our calendar. We do require a bare minimum of 1 week for any order, but for weddings we suggest a minimum of six months to one year just to make sure we have the availability. Please call or email to find out our availability for your particular date. We absolutely try to accommodate last minute requests if our schedule allows us.

Do you make single cakes, cupcakes and any decorated cookies?

Yes. We do create custom designed cupcakes and stands upon request.  They start at $5 per person and the stands are separately and are based on availability.

If I want fresh flowers on my cake how can that be arranged?

While we highly recommend decorating your cake with our handmade/painted sugarpaste flowers as we believe they will accent your cake beautifully and hold up better, plus, they are not as dangerous as some fresh flowers are (due to pesticides and several poisonous varieties), we will gladly coordinate with your florist when they can place the fresh flowers on the cake for you.

Do you make sugar free, vegan or gluten free cakes? Do you use organic ingredients?

We currently do not make sugar free or vegan cakes. However, we do create gluten free cakes (with limitations-please inquire).  We do not provide tastings for gluten free cakes at this time.

We know that fresh and natural ingredients truly do make a difference in our cakes.  We are committed to using only the best ingredients around Denver and Boulder & take great pride in creating the best cakes in terms of both taste and design.

We believe you’ll quite literally TASTE the difference of our cakes.

Every cake we create is made only a few days before your event, 100% from scratch using the freshest ingredients available.  While some custom sugarpaste items are made weeks in advance to be able to set/dry in time; our cakes are always fresh and baked no more than 48 hours in advance.

Like Us
